hope to show you some of the work I do in my studio in the heart of Canyon Country in Northern Arizona.
about me
I was born into an artistic family, in Nuernberg, Germany. Painting and drawing became a daily habit with the encouragement from my mother, a wonderful landscape painter, and my uncle, a talented folk artist.
After several years of living in California, I was drawn to the beautiful landscapes and skies of northern Arizona, the high desert of the Mogollon Rim, close to the Grand Canyon where I set up my studio on 40 acres of rough, natural land. Here among the tall juniper, the southwest culture calls out from high canyon walls and dry creek beds. These beautiful surroundings are a great stimulation for creativity.
My inspiration comes from a variety of sources. My formal art education was primarily in the graphic arts field, which I use extensively along with pastels, acrylics and a variety of mixed media. Much of what I do is self taught. I enjoy using different media and love to make my own paper which, at times, becomes my canvas.
My original paintings and prints have been shown and sold at a variety of art fairs and shops in Arizona. I have also drawn portraits on commission using both graphite and pastel.
